The Don Cesar – Sunset

Tonights engagement session is at my personal favorite venue on St. Pete Beach and likely the West coast of Florida.  The Don Cesar, also known as the Pink Palace.  Mia and Ryan love the beach and they really wanted to have their engagement photos in the same location as their wedding.  Their wedding will be New Years Eve 2018 and I canNOT wait for this one!

Let me start by saying that Mia and Ryan are awesome and very laid back and always laughing!  They stressed to me that they take terrible photos and that it kind of makes them nervous.  Well… “I like I haven’t heard that before” am I right?  But as soon as we started it all just clicked and we had SUCH an easy time and a ridiculous sunset to boot!  Mia and Ryan said they only needed one single shot that looked good enough to frame at their reception.  I told you they were laid back and I loved how they gave me their expectations up front.  I of course took this as an opportunity to prove my point when it comes to engagement sessions.  And that is… a session is NOT just for taking photos of you two together in some awesome location.  It’s about building report.  Period.  That’s the meat and potatoes of it.  When I show up to photograph Mia and Ryan’s wedding in a few weeks we will already have established that report and their day is going to be a smooth as silk.  Not to mention they are going to feel a million times more relaxed in front of the camera!  I love that part!!  🙂

Take my advice… do an engagement session with your wedding photographer.  It’s worth it.
